The Greatest Isekai Anime EVER, Just Had Its Best Episode EVER.

This week’s episode of Re:Zero featured some incredible action! Be warned that there are SPOILERS found in this one. Avoid if you haven’t seen the episode yet!

The bloody, violent battle between Elsa the Bowel Hunter and Garfiel Tinzel carried over from last episode. Blades and claws were flying everywhere as much as blood and body parts. It got even better when Roswaal’s Mansion was set ablaze by Subaru, Otto and Petra.

Once the mansion started to collapse around them due to the fire damage the battle reached a new height. Before rejoining the battle, Elsa gave us her tragic backstory to give some emotional weight to it. The two then go at it one more time, with Garfiel taking a massive bite in her neck. Up to now, all the damage Elsa took was instantly healed thanks to her vampiric curse. Yet Garfiel was aiming for the very thing that enabled her to heal quickly, and Elsa realized it when her would didn’t heal. Garfiel then threw a massive boulder on her, crushing her from head to toe.

Ram & Puck vs. Roswaal is an early favorite for Fight of The Year!

The REAL fight however, was Ram & Puck vs. Roswaal. It had the emotional weight of Roswaal fighting to keep his plans from going up in smoke, countering Ram’s desperate fight to free him from Echidna’s thrall. With Puck still under the weight of a spell placed on Emilia, he wasn’t able to release his full power on Roswaal. Ram throws Roswaal off by revealing the depth of her love for him. Using this as an opening Puck surrounds Roswaal with Ice crystals that Ram uses to hide in.

Roswaal fires off massive fire spells that sets the area on fire. Ram then successfully grabs his Witches Cult Bible, risking her life by using her Oni powers. Roswaal’s love and devotion to Echidna is wrapped in that book. Ram smiles as she throws it into the fire. Roswaal blasts her body with a huge fireball that sets more of the forest ablaze. Fade to Black.
