Taking ALL of the suspense out of the Crisis On Infinite Earth’s crossover which has yet to conclude, The CW has officially renewed its 5 remaining superhero shows: Black Lightning, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow.
I mean on one hand, yeah, they’re back officially…on the other hand, way to kill your momentum CW! The Crisis hasn’t even finished, and it hasn’t exactly set the world on fire despite containing a crap-ton of easter eggs and fanservice (LUCIFER CAMEO FTW). Then this announcement sucks all of the air out of the anticipation of what could possibly happen in the end.
In the classic Crisis on Infinite Earth’s comic, Supergirl famously dies saving her cousin from the Anti-Monitor’s wrath…safe to say that’s not happening, or at the very least won’t have any lasting effect. Some thought The Flash would die, but they cleverly wrote around that by sacrificing John Wesley Shipp’s Earth-90 Barry Allen. This announcement, while welcome, probably could’ve waited a week until Crisis was over.
But hey, at least today we got a new poster showing off Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen transformed into The Spectre. I guess that’s kinda cool too.
