Death Note is the story of Light Yagami, a disillusioned youth who has the notebook of a Shinigami (Grim Reaper) literally fall into his hands from the sky. The name of any person he writes in the book is guaranteed to die almost immediately. Using the book he goes on a crusade to cleanse the world of evil.

This adaptation is being developed exclusively for Netflix and stars Wilem Dafoe as Ryuk, the shinigami who’s book falls into Light’s hands.
